Phillies Make Brandon Marsh Request Ahead of All-Star Game

After a sluggish start to the 2026 MLB season, the Philadelphia Phillies have steadied their campaign and emerged as a contender in the National League race. Interim manager Don Mattingly has the Phillies with a record of 35-30, and the club enters Monday having won seven of its last 10 games. Philadelphia will now begin a three-game road series against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Amidst the Phillies' sensational turnaround this season, outfielder Brandon Marsh has been having a breakout season. The 28-year-old has been one of Philadelphia's most consistent offensive pieces, and he is currently leading the Major Leagues with a .338 batting average.

Ahead of Monday's game against the Blue Jays, and with voting officially open for the 2026 MLB All-Star Game, the Phillies took to social media to encourage fans to support Marsh's All-Star campaign and encourage fans to "Vote Marsh."

"We are the Philadelphia Phillies and we approve this message," the organization posted on X alongside a graphic promoting Marsh's candidacy.

The graphic highlighted Marsh's MLB-leading .338 batting average, while also showcasing his .368 on-base percentage and .521 slugging percentage. As voting for the 2026 MLB All-Star Game continues, Philadelphia appears eager to ensure that one of its breakout stars receives recognition for his stellar year.

Debuting in 2021, Marsh has never been an All-Star in his career, but his performance throughout the first half of the season could earn him his first appearance in the Midsummer Classic. In 60 games this season, alongside his league-leading batting average, Marsh has an OPS of .890 and eight home runs with 30 RBI.

Although fan voting often favors some of baseball's biggest names, Marsh has built a compelling case to earn his first career All-Star selection. His defensive versatility and athleticism combined with his elite production at the plate have helped Philadelphia overcome its difficult start to the year.

Whether he is ultimately selected as an All-Star remains to be seen, but with the Phillies publicly endorsing him and his performance speaking for itself, Brandon Marsh has positioned himself as a worthy candidate and a crucial piece of the Phillies' lineup.
