Kurt Busch Sends Thanks in First Public Statement Since Brother Kyle Busch's Death
On Monday morning, Kurt Busch released a statement online thanking fans and others for their support in the last few weeks. Kurt and Kyle Busch are the winningest brothers ever in NASCAR history. The duo passed up Bobby and Donnie Allison in the 2023 season after Kyle won his first race at RCR at Auto Club Speedway.
In his statement, Kurt Busch gave thanks for all of the messages and support. He also had a few words to honor his late brother.
"Thank you, everyone, for the well wishes, support, & love for my brother and our family," Kurt posted on social media. "I reflect back on the days Kyle and I raced anything we could get our hands on.
"I will forever be grateful for the memories we made, the lessons you taught me, and the brotherhood we shared."

Between the two brothers, 94 wins, three Cup Series championships, and a ton of memories and great racing in between. Kurt warned everyone all those years ago, that as good as he was as a young driver, his brother Kyle was even better. He wasn't wrong, either.
Both Kurt and Kyle Busch are among NASCAR's 75 Greatest Drivers. Kurt is already a member of the Hall of Fame, and Kyle is on his way there in the coming years. NASCAR has always been a family sport, but the Busch family took it to new highs as the two brothers won races, championships, and made a few people mad along the way.
There may never be two brothers as successful as Kurt and Kyle Busch ever again in NASCAR. What they accomplished as individuals added up to quite a record for their racing family from Las Vegas.
