Remainder Of 2026 LIV Golf Season In 'Jeopardy'

The 2026 LIV Golf season has a couple of months remaining, but will the golfers actually be able to finish the season?

That appears to be unclear.

According to a report on Sunday, the remainder of the 2026 LIV Golf season is officially in "jeopardy." It's unclear if the league will have enough funding to finish out the 2026 season, per the report.

"Every remaining tournament is on the fence," a high-ranking executive at a LIV partner told Front Office Sports, adding, "LIV Golf doesn't know if or when the PIF will shut off the spigot."

Saudi Arabia's PIF fund is responsible for most of the money invested in LIV Golf. However, Saudi Arabia has made it clear that it'll eventually pull out of LIV Golf.

The report from Front Office Sports added that the money from PIF is sent "on a monthly basis," and, "LIV is still operating under the assumption that those payments will continue for the remainder of the season."

LIV Golf has a lot of season left

LIV Golf has several premier events left on the schedule.

There is an event at LIV Golf U.K. the week after The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale in July. That tournament will then be followed by three U.S. tournaments, including one Trump National Golf Club Bedminster.

If LIV Golf's tournaments aren't cancelled outright moving forward, they will likely at least have significantly lower purses for players, according to reports.

It's going to be interesting to see if more LIV Golf players choose to attempt to leave the league in exchange for a spot back on the PGA Tour, if it's allowed.
