New York Police Not Canceling Watch Parties For Game 3

The New York Knicks will welcome President Trump, 79, to Madison Square Garden on Monday evening, for Game 3 of the NBA Finals.

The Knicks are leading the Spurs, 2-0. The Knicks and their fans have hosted several outdoor watch parties during the NBA Playoffs. They typically take place right outside of Madison Square Garden.

But on Monday evening, President Trump will be in attendance. Will his arrival cause the watch parties to be cancelled? That's what some have speculated.

However, it sounds like that report is not true.

According to New York City Police, the watch party plans will continue.

"Despite rumors on social media to the contrary, an NYPD spokesperson tells @FOS that there WILL be outdoor Knicks Game 3 watch parties tomorrow night. Locations are TBD," Ryan Glasspiegel shared.

Knicks confirm Game 3 security plans

The Knicks have confirmed their Game 3 security plans.

"As we move closer to Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Monday night, Madison Square Garden and the United States Secret Service want to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all ticket holders by sharing important security procedures that will be in place," the team announced.

"A strict no-bag policy will be in effect, and fans should make every effort to limit personal items to an absolute minimum. Fans should expect enhanced security measures when entering Madison Square Garden, including TSA-style screening procedures. Guests are strongly encouraged to arrive at least two hours before tip-off to allow additional time for screening and entry. Fans are encouraged to review the complete list of prohibited items before arriving at https://www.secretservice.gov/prohibiteditems. There will be no storage available for prohibited items brought to the venue."

Game 3 is set to tip off shortly after 8 p.m. E.T. on Monday.
