Knicks Fans Want President Trump To 'Stay Away' From NBA Finals
President Donald Trump is set to attend Game 3 of the NBA Finals, but some fans are hoping he'll change his plans.
The New York Knicks grabbed a commanding 2-0 series lead over the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night, as Karl-Anthony Towns had 21 points and 13 rebounds in 34 minutes. Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs had their chances to even up the series, but they ultimately came up short in crunch time.
"I have been on the other side where you're a young team and you're trying to do a lot to win the game," Towns said. "And I think that for us, we keep leaning on experience and we keep leaning on the word 'execution.'"
With the NBA Finals heading to New York for Game 3, it's already been confirmed that Trump will be in attendance at Madison Square Garden. He told reporters that he received an invitation from Knicks owner James Dolan.
Don't ruin the Knicks' momentum.
After the Knicks took care of Game 2 in San Antonio, countless fans made it known they want Trump to continue watching the NBA finals from afar. They're convinced he'll jinx the team if he shows up to MSG.
"Please keep Trump away from the next game he will destroy the whole vibe the Knicks are having," one fan said.
"Trump will kill the Knicks. Everything he gets involved with dies," a second fan predicted. "If Trump stays away, Knicks in 4. If Trump goes, Spurs in 7."
"The Knicks are up 2-0. Why tempt fate now? I'd much rather see Trump welcome the Knicks to the White House after they win the championship and celebrate with a table full of McDonald's. Don't put the curse on us before the job is finished," a third fan wrote.
"Keep Trump away from The Knicks," another fan declared.
We highly doubt the president will listen to the fans' demands, especially since he's eager to attend a Knicks playoff game.
Game 3 is set to begin at 8:30 p.m. on Monday.
