Dylan Harper Says Spurs' 3-Guard Lineup is ‘Pretty Unstoppable'

The San Antonio Spurs fell to the New York Knicks in the opening game of the 2026 NBA Finals, surrendering a 105-95 final score at the Frost Bank Center.

Spurs rookie Dylan Harper did not shy away from the moment in his NBA Finals debut, recording 16 points and eight rebounds through 28 minutes of action. However, he finished the game on the bench as the Knicks closed out the contest with an 11-0 run.

After Game 1, Harper was asked if he likes being on the court with a three-guard lineup featuring Stephon Castle and De’Aaron Fox.

“Being on the floor with them two, it just opens the game so much for me - and them too,” Harper said. “I feel like us having three guards out there is pretty unstoppable.”

Spurs coach Mitch Johnson was asked why Harper was off the court as Game 1 came to a close on Wednesday night.

“Dylan had a heck of a game, and he was playing very well,” Johnson said. “Dylan did not finish the game by nothing that he did or did not do.”

“It was a decision I made,” he added. “I understand that there would be logic in having Dylan in that group, but I thought that group that was out there did some things during the stretch, and that’s who I rolled with.”
