Caitlin Clark Provides Update After Puking Incident vs. Atlanta Dream
Caitlin Clark dealt with some health-related troubles on Thursday night, and yet, she helped the Indiana Fever secure a 83-71 win over the Atlanta Dream.
The Fever kicked off this year's Commissioner's Cup with a standout performance from Kelsey Mitchell, who had 25 points on 11-of-15 shooting. Aliyah Boston also stepped up in a major way, scoring 19 points and hauling in seven rebounds. As for Clark, she had 17 points, eight assists and seven rebounds.
Unfortunately for Clark, she also lost some of her food at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. She was caught puking at halftime of Thursday's game.
The good news, however, is that Clark is doing just fine now.
"I tried to eat some applesauce, and then it just came up, and then everything else in my stomach also came up … but then I felt fine," Clark told reporters. "I felt light, so I was running around feeling good in the second half."
The Fever are trying to turn their season around.
After a 4-4 start to the season, the Fever had a team meeting to discuss their struggles on and off the court.
"Over the last couple of days ... our energy shifted as a group. I think that our culture constantly made changes. When you have hard conversations as a group, you pour into one another. You get days like this because you actually poured in. We did the work the right way," Mitchell said. "Talent gets us there, but team camaraderie and just being honest about where we are as a group keeps us there."
Judging by Thursday night's results, the Fever had a productive meeting. We'll see if they continue their winning ways on Saturday against the New York Liberty.
