President Trump Makes Decision On Game 3 Of The NBA Finals

President Donald Trump has officially announced his plans for the NBA Finals.

Trump was reportedly planning on attending the Eastern Conference Finals, but the New York Knicks derailed his plans because they swept the Cleveland Cavaliers. Luckily for the president of the United States, he's got another chance to root for his hometown team.

Prior to the start of the NBA Finals on Wednesday, the New York Post reported that Trump was considering a trip to Madison Square Garden for Game 3.

"MSG performed security walkthroughs in preparation for his potential visit, according to the sources," the New York Post reported. "New York City mayor and diehard Knicks fan Zohran Mamdani also plans to attend Game 3, although he is not expected to sit alongside the president, according to sources. The White House did not immediately respond to comment."

After the Knicks secured a 105-95 victory over the Spurs on Wednesday night, Trump confirmed that he'll be in attendance for Game 3. He said he received an invitation from Knicks owner James Dolan.

"The answer is yes, he's invited me," Trump told reporters. "I'll be going [to Monday's game]."

The president is rooting for the Knicks.

Trump, a Queens native, has made it clear that he wants the Knicks to win their first championship since 1973. Nonetheless, he's got a great deal of respect for Spurs star Victor Wembanyama.

"I watched the end of the game - they were dominant," Trump said. "Wemby's a great player. He's going to be a great player and he is already a great player. I said, 'How do you guard this guy? He's 7-foot-5 and has a great shot.' But they found a way to do it. They're a great team."

The NBA Finals will resume on Friday night with Game 2. We'll see if the Knicks take a commanding 2-0 series lead.
