Eagles Made a Smart Move With Jonathan Greenard Addition
The Philadelphia Eagles had a respectable 2026 NFL season and rounded out their year with a 11-6 record and being No. 1 in the NFC East. But, they didn’t make it back to the Super Bowl, and that hurt. You know Jalen Hurts and company are not happy about how the season ended, but the Eagles have made some smart moves in the offseason to improve themselves going into 2026.
In a piece published last week, Mike Sando of The Athletic names his favorite moves for each NFL franchise during the league’s offseason.

He gives the team props for “adding Jonathan Greenard to the pass-rush rotation.” Having a good pass-rush corps is a make-or-break situation for any NFL team.
“Critics of the Eagles point to the team’s untenable cap situation, so there was irony in the Eagles’ acquiring Greenard from the Vikings to help Minnesota navigate a difficult short-term cap situation,” he states in the piece. “The bottom line is that Philly, a team that has contended for and won championships on the strength of its pass rush, added a proven rusher.”

The Greenard move was a smart one for Philly. Looking at the numbers, he had just three sacks last season, which doesn’t look impressive, but he clocked at least 12 in each of his previous two seasons, and last year’s rough record was mainly due to injury. Because of that, the Eagles got him for a steal, and it’s a move that’s likely to pay off.
