CJ Gardner-Johnson Shares Cryptic Message After Eagles Trade AJ Brown

After weeks of speculation, the Philadelphia Eagles officially traded their star wide receiver, A.J. Brown, to the Patriots, bringing new hope to New England after their failed attempt to win Super Bowl LX.

In exchange, the Eagles received a 2027 fifth-round pick and a 2028 first-round pick, along with the potential removal of a toxic player from their roster.

Philadelphia’s past season featured a tumultuous campaign, during which Brown voiced frustrations about the team, initially sparking rumors of a locker room feud between him and the team.

One of his former teammates, safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson, played alongside Brown during the Eagles’ 2024-25 season, which saw the team win the Super Bowl, 40-22, over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Soon after the Brown trade news hit, Gardner-Johnson, now a member of the Buffalo Bills, took to social media to fire off a curious message about his former teammate and potential locker room issues.

“We had all that beef in Philly locker room , sheeeeeesh!!!!!” he wrote in an X message on Wednesday morning.

Commenters reacted to CJG’s message, sharing their thoughts about the situation with the Eagles and him joining other teams, including the Chicago Bears.

“Damn, thought the vibes were immaculate after that chip,” one commenter wrote, while another said, “What is it with Philly? Why does every player leave disgruntled.”

“Nick Sirrianni might be the greatest coach ever ngl if he kept all that together,” another commenter wrote in the X replies.

“Just say it lmao, why just put this out there and not say what happened,” another X comment said.

It’s unclear whether Gardner-Johnson was being sarcastic or serious, but he didn’t name any names or provide any additional details in his message. He could just be fueling the fire to stir up fans more, or he actually had some legitimate issues with his former teammate.

Gardner-Johnson joined the league in 2019 with the New Orleans Saints, playing there for three seasons before moving to the Eagles in 2022. After one season with the Detroit Lions, he returned to the Eagles for that 2024 run to the Super Bowl.

He also played three games for the Houston Texans and then had a big role with the Bears’ defense last year, getting 51 total tackles, three sacks, two interceptions, and a forced fumble.

However, CJG joined yet another NFL team this offseason, signing a one-year, $6 million deal with the Buffalo Bills to bolster their defense. He’ll also have a familiar face there with him, as his former Bears teammate, D.J. Moore, also joined the roster via an offseason trade.
