Telling Contract Details of Odell Beckham Jr, Giants Deal Revealed

Odell Beckham Jr is back on the New York Giants for the first time since 2019 when the Giants traded the star wide receiver along with Olivier Vernon, in exchange for Jabrill Peppers, Kevin Zeitler, and the Browns’ first- and third-round picks in the 2019 NFL draft.

New York signed the veteran wide receiver along with JuJu Smith-Schuster and Braxton Berrios on Monday after losing Gunner Olszewski for the season to a torn Achilles. ESPN’s Jordan Raanan revealed all three wide receivers signed to veteran minimum deals.

“Contract updates: Odell Beckham Jr., Juju Smith-Schuster and Braxton Berrios were all signed to minimum deals, per sources. They will have to earn their spots on the roster. No-risk propositions financially for the Giants,” he said on social media.

The low cost of OBJ isn’t surprising given new head coach John Harbaugn’s previous comments about potentially bringing in the veteran wide receiver.

“We have just such an honest conversation about it. It’s got to be right for both parties,” Harbaugh said last month. “Odell wants to be the kind of player that can make a difference. I’m pretty sure that he can make a team in the National Football League right now. But can he make a difference and is it something he wants to do and is his body going to hold up the way he wants it to?”

In his final season with the Giants in 2018, Beckham Jr caught 77 receptions for 1,052 yards and six touchdowns.
