Victor Wembanyama Shares Unique Moment With Spurs Fans After Game 7 Win

The San Antonio Spurs secured a 111-103 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals, punching their ticket to an NBA Finals matchup against the New York Knicks.

The Spurs were led by their superstar center Victor Wembanyama, who finished the crucial closeout game with 22 points and seven rebounds. The 7-foot-4 Frenchman averaged 27.3 points, 10.9 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game against the reigning NBA-champion Thunder - enough to earn him unanimous Western Conference Finals MVP honors.

Wembanyama hoisted the Earvin “Magic” Johnson Trophy alongside his teammates on Oklahoma City’s Paycom Center floor. And as he exited toward the locker room, he shared a unique moment with the San Antonio fans who made the trip for Game 7.

Wembanyama made sure as many Spurs fans as possible touched the MVP trophy as he walked off the court.

Wembanyama gave credit to his San Antonio teammates after securing the individual award.

“They don’t even know how much I love them,” he said. “Everybody stepped up tonight. We know everybody’s got each other’s backs. I love these guys.”

“This [trophy] doesn’t mean anything other than the fact that we’re a team,” he continued. “We want four more. We’re not done. Go Spurs go!”
