Jets Star Garrett Wilson Can't Justify Paying For Knicks NBA Finals Tickets

The New York Jets gave star wide receiver Garrett Wilson a four-year, $130 million contract extension last July, but even though he can technically afford Madison Square Garden tickets to witness the New York Knicks play in the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999, he’s drawing the line.

At the Jets’ OTA on Thursday, Wilson was asked whether he planned to go to an NBA Finals game this week.

“Nah,” Wilson said with a smile. “Them jawns expensive!”

Stars, they’re just like us.

As of this writing, the get-in price for Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden is over $4,000 on SeatGeek and over $3,800 on StubHub. Those are the nosebleeds. Tickets closer to the court are going for over $100,000.

Shortly after the Knicks swept the Cleveland Cavaliers to win the Eastern Conference Finals last Monday, Newsday Sports’ Steve Popper reported that MSG courtside seats for Game 3 were listed at $595,000. The New York Times’ Claire Fahy reported that the Chase presale listed tickets from “just under $2,000 to more than $6,000,” and resale sites had tickets for sale exceeding $85,000.

The Knicks are riding an 11-game winning streak into the 2026 NBA Finals, where they’ll face either the reigning champion Oklahoma City Thunder or the San Antonio Spurs. The Thunder and Spurs will play Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals on Saturday night. The Knicks are vying for their first championship since 1973.

If the Jets ever make an NFL playoff run, tickets will likely be just as expensive. The Jets hold the longest active playoff drought in the NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB (15 seasons), and it’s been 57 years since they last won the Super Bowl in 1969. At least Wilson would get in for free.
