Golden State Valkyries Fan Goes Viral For 'Crybaby' Caitlin Clark Sign

Caitlin Clark has received plenty of respect from WNBA fans around the country since going pro in 2024. That being said, there's one particular fanbase that has zero interest in showing her love.

Golden State Valkyries fans made it abundantly clear this week that Clark won't receive a hero's welcome when she steps foot in the Chase Center. In fact, the former No. 1 pick will be treated as a villain.

Joseph Dycus of Mercury News shared footage of Valkyries fans booing Clark every time she had the basketball in her hands.

One particular fan of the Valkyries went viral for holding up a sign that read "Cry Baby Clark."

"I love it. The away team should always get booed," one person said. "That is normal sports."

"Anyone who thought every game would be a home game, clearly, underestimated the fact that hardcore fanbases don't like people being shoved down their throats," a fan declared. "She hasn't lived up to the hype, every one of their games is on national tv and it's starting to become glaring."

"So CC makes every teams game THE game to be at. Got it," another fan commented.

Caitlin has faced plenty of backlash this week.

It's not an understatement to say this has been a noisy week for Clark. Prior to dealing with all the boos in the Bay Area, she was called out by former ESPN star Cari Champion.

"The the way that you behave, this entitlement, the way you are talking to your coaches… you enjoy that. So if that's what you enjoy, if you want to be the villain, if you want to be the tough person … then let it be," Champion said. "Because we're coming at you the same way we could come at anyone else. And her fans need to recognize that. Like, she chooses that behavior."

Clark hasn't addressed all the criticism she has received online, but maybe she'll fire back after this Saturday's game.

The Fever will take on the Portland Fire at 8 p.m. ET.
