Raptors recap (May 29): Nanaimo 7, Ridgefield 6

May 29-Highlights ­- Ridgefield was strong in the first half of the game before the NightOwls came on strong in the later innings to win the West Coast League season-opener at the RORC. Nanaimo scored four times in the eighth inning on a two-run single by Aiden Nykoluk, a bases loaded walk and hit batter.

At the plate - Raptors 1B JT Summers (Santa Rosa JC) hit a three-run home run in a four-run fifth inning to put Ridgefield ahead 5-0. ... SS Michael Perazzo (Sacramento State) was 2 for 4 with two RBI ... C Reagan McCluskey (Dallas Baptist) hit a solo home run in the sixth inning.

On the mound - Jordan Haver (Fresno State) started the opener for Ridgefield and went five shutout innings, giving up just one hit with six strikeouts and two walks.

Next up - Game 2 of the three-game series with Nanaimo is at 6:35 p.m. Saturday. It's also rally towel giveaway and the first of five Chick-fil-A Saturdays. Fans will receive a coupon for free Chick-fil-A after the game.
