Celtics Linked to One of the ‘Biggest Talking Points' of the NBA Combine

The 2026 NBA draft is approaching, and it’s a crucial one for the Boston Celtics. The team fell out of the NBA playoffs in the Eastern Conference First Round to the Philadelphia 76ers, and that was just too early to justify an exit.

So, the Celtics are firmly focused on the NBA draft on the way and what budding talent to add to their roster.

In a mock draft out on Saturday, May 23, Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report names his projections for the upcoming draft and has the team going with Luigi Suigo, a center, out of Mega.

“While Suigo didn’t quite drive the wait-he’s-how-big?! discussions at the Combine, he was the biggest talking point not named Aday Mara,” he states in the piece. “And, honestly, the dimensions aren’t that different: just under 7’3″ barefoot with a 7’5″ wingspan and a 9’6″ reach.”

He adds: “Boston could use that kind of size on the interior, plus the team would love his willingness to launch from long range. He looks like he can handle all of the typical interior work, and he enhances that value by being a clever passer, capable shooter and powerful finisher.”

Bigger isn’t always better, but it certainly helps in the NBA. Suigo is a towering talent and could add an instant boost and an intimidating nature to the Celtics’ lineup. Plug him into the interior, and he would add a reinforcement that this team needs, not to mention shooting and finishing power.
