President Trump Fires Back At Giants Star Jaxson Dart's Critics
President Donald Trump has made it very clear over the past week that he's a fan of New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart.
Dart, who had an excellent rookie season with the Giants, made headlines last Friday when he introduced Trump at a campaign event at Rockland Community College in Suffern, New York.
"What an honor, what a privilege it is to be here," Dart said. "Without further ado, I'm grateful, I'm honored, I'm pleasured to introduce the 45th and 47th president of the United States of America, President Donald J. Trump."
Trump returned the compliment by saying, "This guy is going to be a future Hall of Famer in my book."
While some people viewed this as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, several media members and fans questioned Dart's decision to introduce Trump at a rally.
The president addressed the backlash that Dart is receiving during an interview with Fox News' Lara Trump. He offered his support to the Ole Miss quarterback.
"So, when Jaxson gets harassed a little bit, he's also loved more. Because we have more people than they do," Trump said, via Fox News. "And a lot of the people that you think, like people in Los Angeles, wealthy people that I see them all the time there, hitting me a little bit, and they meet me, they say, 'Sir, I voted for you.' I said, 'I know. I know. I can tell.' Guys voted for me. I can tell you people on television that knock me all the time voted for me."
As of this moment, Dart hasn't responded to these remarks from the president.
What's the latest for the Giants?
Giants pass rusher Abdul Carter aired out his complaints about Dart supporting Trump on social media last Saturday. That raised concerns about John Harbaugh's locker room heading into the summer.
According to ESPN and NFL Network, Dart addressed his teammates during a meeting on Wednesday. It sounds like the Giants have everything under control.
"Sources said that among the topics discussed were keeping things "internal" and not airing frustrations publicly," ESPN's Jordan Raanan said.
The Giants will begin their 2026 season on Sept. 13 against the Dallas Cowboys.
