Indiana Football Leading for 4-Star RB Before Commitment Decision
Curt Cignetti and the Indiana Hoosiers are hosting class of 2027 running back Da'Jon Talley-Rhodes for an official visit on Friday. It will be his second time in Bloomington after an unofficial visit with Indiana back on March 28.
Not long after, the Washington, DC native will announce his commitment decision on Wednesday. On March 9, he revealed his top six schools, which included the Hoosiers, Penn State Nittany Lions, Wisconsin Badgers, Washington Huskies, Michigan State Spartans and Boston College Eagles.
With less than a week before making a decision, Rivals' Steve Wiltfong reports that Indiana currently has the lead in Talley-Rhodes' recruiting battle.
"Rivals four-star running back Dajon Talley-Rhodes will announce his college decision next week and Indiana leads heading into this weekend's official visit," Wiltfong wrote. "If the Washington (DC) St. John's standout has a good experience in Bloomington, the Hoosiers will be tough to beat."
Talley-Rhodes has emerged as a high-priority target for Indiana. At 5-foot-10.5 and 210 pounds, he is a four-star recruit, the No. 25 running back and the No. 1 player in his state according to Rivals.
He put together an impressive junior season at St. John's High School. According to his own X post, he rushed for 1,600 yards and 15 touchdowns. Talley-Rhodes was also named to the All-Met First Team Offense.
With a lead going into their official visit, the Hoosiers are hoping to lock things down and make him the first running back addition in the 2027 cycle. As of now, Cignetti and his staff have landed eight total commitments, ranking 11th in the Big Ten and 31st in the nation.
