MLB Announces Hitter Power Rankings: Aaron Judge Drops Six Spots, Surprise Player Takes No. 1 Over Yordan Álvarez, Bryce Harper Falls Out of Top 10

Arizona Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll soars to the No. 1 spot in the latest MLB Hitter Power Rankings. This surprising ranking comes after not cracking the top 10 on last week's list.

Carroll has been red-hot in his last 15 games for Arizona. In that timespan, the 25-year-old is slashing .373/.485/.696 with two home runs, eight RBI and three stolen bases. The speedy outfielder has sprinted his way to four triples in those last 15 games and holds the MLB lead with eight on the season. His unique five tool skillset propels him above the league's best to take the top spot.

Carroll is followed by two of the best power hitters of this generation in Astros' Yordan Álvarez and Phillies' Kyle Schwarber. Álvarez's 1.045 OPS ranks as the best in baseball, while Schwarber has crushed an MLB-leading 21 home runs.

Along with Carroll, there are five other stars to crack the top 10 after being unranked in the last rankings. Those players being Nick Kurtz (4), James Wood (5), Juan Soto (8), Ketel Marte (9), and Byron Buxton (10). While Cardinals' breakout star Jordan Walker and Yankees' Aaron Judge rank respectively at the No. 6 and No. 7 spots.

Judge has previously been ranked at the No. 1 spot during the last Power Rankings. While he is still mashing to the tune of a .934 OPS, the home runs have seemingly disappeared. The three-time American League MLB has only notched one long ball in his last 15 games. Even during his small blip, Judge still ranks third in the American League in home runs with 17, tied with Buxton.

Álvarez has constantly ranked near, or at the top of the Hitter Power Rankings this season and has gotten off to the best start of his career. After falling to fourth in the last rankings, The 28-year-old went on a monster stretch, hitting five home runs in his last seven games to take second place in both the Power Rankings and American League home run leader board.

After a hot couple of weeks from Phillies' Bryce Harper which saw him reach eight place in the last Hitter Power Rankings, the eight-time All Star has cooled off at the plate. Harper is slashing .226/.317/.415 with three home runs in his last 15 games. While the stretch for the 33-year-old has not been awful, it is not up to the left-handed hitters usual standard.

We will have to wait and see if the MLB Triples King in Corbin Carroll can keep swinging a hot bat and stay at the top of the leader board. Or if another one of MLB's best will dethrone him during the next MLB Hitter Power Rankings.
