Dodgers Provide Injury Update on Teoscar Hernandez During Rockies Game

The Los Angeles Dodgers have had the misfortune of the injury bug during their series against the Colorado Rockies. In Tuesday's game, utility man Kike Hernandez, who was just two games removed from a previous injury absence, left the game due to a significant tear in his oblique. This landed him on the injured list after the game.

To add to this nightmare, on Wednesday, star outfielder Teoscar Hernandez was removed from the game early as well. Hernandez led off the bottom of the second inning with a groundout to shortstop after a seven-pitch at-bat.

After Hernandez ran hard down the first-base line, he appeared to reach for his left hamstring, and he looked upset in the dugout afterwards, according to The California Post reporter Jack Harris.

When the Dodgers took the field again in the top of the third inning, Hernandez did not go back to his position, as he was replaced in left field by Hyeseong Kim.

After Hernandez was removed from the game, the Dodgers provided an update on his health and the reason for his early exit.

"Teoscar Hernández left tonight's game with a left hamstring strain," the Dodgers said in an X post.

This is a frightening sight for Los Angeles fans, as it appears another one of the team's veteran leaders may be heading for a stint on the injured list.

Hernandez was having a solid season before Wednesday's game. In his first 50 games of the year, the 33-year-old three-time Silver Slugger winner had a slash line of .278/.350/.439 with an OPS of .789, totaling seven home runs and 31 RBIs. This run production is good enough for second on the team.

If he is forced to miss time with this hamstring injury, it would be cause for concern for the two-time defending World Series champion Dodgers.
