Caitlin Clark Closing In on Shocking Historic Milestone

The Indiana Fever last played on Friday night against the Golden State Valkyries and will be back in action on Thursday when the two teams meet again at 10 p.m. ET on Prime Video.

Both teams enter the matchup at 4-2 overall, setting the stage for what could be a historic night for superstar Caitlin Clark.

According to Fever writer Robin Lundberg, with a minimum threshold of 500 career season assists to qualify, Clark is on the verge of becoming the WNBA's all-time leader in assists per game once she records three more against the Valkyries.

Clark only appeared in 13 games last season due to a season-ending groin injury, but she played in every game as a rookie in 2024. Through her career, she enters Thursday night with a career average of 8.6 assists per game.

She currently holds the record for the most games in WNBA history (12) with 20-plus points and 10-plus assists, and across her first five appearances this year - after missing one game last week due to back soreness - she has recorded at least 20 points and five assists in every outing.

The former Iowa star is currently averaging 23.8 points, 9.0 assists, 4.4 rebounds, 1.0 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game, while shooting 43.2% from the field, 34.8% from three-point range, and 96.4% from the free-throw line.
