Trevor Lawrence Sounds Off on the 1 Question He's Sick of Answering

When the Jacksonville Jaguars drafted quarterback Trevor Lawrence first overall in 2021, the team believed it was drafting its face of the franchise for the next decade-plus.

And Lawrence has kind of lived up to the hype.

He's got three 4,000-yard seasons under his belt - two of which he also threw 25 or more touchdowns in - he's led the Jags to two playoff appearances, he's made a Pro Bowl, and he's signed a monster five-year, $275 million contract extension.

But there's one thing that Lawrence doesn't have that the Matthew Stafford, Dak Prescott, Justin Herbert, and Drake Maye's of the world do: they play in a sexy market.

Most would argue that Jacksonville is the least desirable city in the state of Florida behind Miami and Tampa, which is why Lawrence is presumably asked all the time whether or not he actually likes the city he plays in.

And according to him, that's the one question he's getting sick of answering.

"I get asked all the time if I like Jacksonville," Lawrence stated on the "In Good Company" podcast. "And I've been here for five years, and I'm like, ‘Yes, dude, I do.' Like, I'm tired of answering that question.

"I've been here a while now. I'm just going to be like ‘I actually hate it,' and they're going to be like…they're just going to walk away. I do love Jacksonville, but I've gotten asked that a thousand times at this point."

Jacksonville is the most populous city in the state of Florida (1,009,000), and it's the largest by area. But it doesn't quite live up to the glamour of either Miami (population 500,000) and Tampa (population 420,000).

Regardless of what fans think of the Jacksonville market, the Jaguars have built one of the more competitive teams in not only the AFC but the entire NFL.

Jacksonville went 13-4 last season and won the AFC South, and with head coach Liam Coen heading into his second season, many expect big things from Lawrence and the Jags in 2026.
