Indiana Fever Star Caitlin Clark Makes Injury Admission on Tuesday
The Indiana Fever are starting to look like one of the hottest teams in the WNBA again, and Caitlin Clark has been at the center of that momentum. Indiana has won three straight games to climb near the top of the Eastern Conference standings, while Clark has continued stuffing the stat sheet with elite scoring and playmaking performances.
Through her first five games of the 2026 season, the Fever star is averaging 23.8 points, 9.0 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game while once again carrying massive expectations on and off the floor. But despite her strong start, Clark made an honest admission Tuesday about the physical reality of playing through the demands of a nonstop basketball schedule and the process of learning how to manage her body at the professional level.

Caitlin Clark Opens Up About Managing Her Back
During media availability on Tuesday, Clark addressed questions about her back and admitted it has been something she has gradually become more aware of over time.
"I don't think it necessarily started at a certain point," Clark said. "I think it's just been over the course of the last year when I've kind of been understanding my body more."
Clark also made clear she is not overly worried about the situation.
"But I don't think it's anything of concern, no," she added.
The comments quickly grabbed attention among Fever fans given how important Clark is to Indiana's success and the league overall.
Fever Continue Rolling Behind Clark's Hot Start
Fortunately for Indiana, Clark's play has not shown many signs of slowing down.
The Fever enter the week at 4-2 and have won three consecutive games, including a recent victory over the Golden State Valkyries where Clark finished with 22 points and continued controlling the pace offensively.
After dealing with heavy defensive pressure throughout her rookie season and constant physical attention from opposing teams, Clark appears more comfortable navigating the grind of a full WNBA schedule. Part of that process, however, includes understanding recovery, soreness and how to manage her body over the course of a long season.
That is something many superstar athletes eventually have to learn, especially players carrying Clark's workload and level of attention every single night.
For now, though, Clark's message seemed intended to calm any major concern. While she acknowledged ongoing management of her back, the Fever star made it clear she does not view it as anything serious as Indiana continues building momentum early in the 2026 season.
