Johnny Manziel Plans To End His Fighting Career At 1-0
Johnny Manziel made his MMA fighting debut on Saturday night. We apparently won't be getting a followup performance.
The former Heisman Trophy winner and first round NFL Draft pick took on social media influencer Bob Menery, of "Buffalo Wild Wings" commercial fame. Manziel, more than 10 years after his last NFL game, dominated Menery in a first-round stoppage victory Saturday night at the UFC Apex Center in Las Vegas.
Manziel, 33, landed multiple impressive punches and leg kicks against the 38-year-old Menery, as the fight lasted just 2 minutes, 16 seconds. The fight was promoted by Kick streamer Adin Ross' Brand Risk Promotions.
Manziel came into Saturday night's fight as a clear favorite. He looked the part for the two-plus minutes inside of the ring.
Manziel, thankfully, is not planning on fighting again.

While we've seen some celebrities get more and more involved in the fighting world, it sounds like Manziel will be one-and-done with this.
"This was good enough for one time," Manziel said following the fight.
Menery, meanwhile, issued an apology following the fight. He was sorry that he let everyone down.
"I didn't expect you to come in hot like that. Good stuff. I'm sorry I let everyone down," he posted on Instagram.
It certainly takes a lot of guts to get in the ring, especially with a former NFL player. Both Menery and Manziel can be proud of their efforts on Saturday night.
