Foo Fighters Select Crew of Skiers for New Music Video, No Snow Required

Not so long ago, a crew of European skiers who go by BPC blew up the internet, basically.

In their video, BPC 2, they threw themselves off cliffs, hillsides, and down staircases, all without snow. The antics racked up nearly one million views on YouTube, pushing the grimy, gritty, and endlessly entertaining strain of skiing into the spotlight.

Now, BPC's having another moment. In the music video for Foo Fighters' Of All People, the crew takes center stage, making for an unexpected but great crossover between popular culture and skiing. It stars Flaco, Blasco Paterno Castello, Mael Bovey, Jordy, Andrea de Angelis, and Keti Vasadze.

The connection between BPC and the Foo Fighters seems to have come by way of the director Alex Acy, who's worked on videos for The Chainsmokers, American Football, and other musicians.

"I found one of [BPC's] videos on YouTube a year ago and I knew I had to meet them," Acy said in a statement. "We chatted a lot before figuring out how we could create something together. I was totally floored by their personalities and their way of seeing life. It takes a certain charisma to take on such stupid and dangerous stunts with style."

As for former Nirvana drummer and Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, it sounds like he was floored.

"Just when I thought I'd seen it all, I discovered BPC and snowless skiing," he said in a statement. "It's either the gnarliest extreme sport I've ever seen, the most fun anyone can have before a guaranteed trip to the hospital, or both. It's an honor to be the soundtrack to this madness."

If Of All People left you looking for more skiing in the wrong places, give BPC's YouTube channel a look. In case you missed it, there's also Candide Thovex's Ski the World, which is a lot like BPC's snowless skiing, but on steroids.
