Danica Patrick Is 'Home,' Ready For The 2026 Indy 500
Danica Patrick is ready for the Indy 500.
The former IndyCar and NASCAR driver broke through a lot of barriers during her racing career. Patrick retired from full-time racing in 2018, though she's stayed close to the sport. Patrick has worked as a broadcaster, covering IndyCar, NASCAR and even Formula 1, which has been surging in popularity in the United States.
Ahead of the 2026 Indy 500, Patrick took to Instagram, showing off her race-ready outfit. She rocked a blue and white polka dot dress during the practice rounds.
Patrick made it clear that she's ready.
"Back home again in (windy) Indiana!!!!" she wrote.
"Vibes were defiantly high for what became a one day qualifying show for the pole after Saturday rained out. Fun day on track and great catching up with old friends! 🏁."
The 2026 Indy 500 will take place on Sunday.
Patrick has more time in her broadcasting schedule these days
Patrick will not be covering Formula 1 for SkySports this year.
"From my first Sky Sports F1 race in Austin to my last 5 years later… I had such a blast! The Sky team was so much fun (thank you all), I saw so many amazing new race tracks and cities, and got to be part of a huge boom in F1!
"I called after the last race in 2025 and said it was time for me to move on and I was so grateful for the opportunity and experience I was given!
"….and now due to my deep exposure to F1, I will be glued to my TV for the season starting this weekend, like every other fan!"
That leaves more time for NASCAR and IndyCar coverage, which she'll start this weekend in Indianapolis.
