Anthony Edwards Draws Attention for What He Did Before Loss to Spurs
Despite a late run at the end of the first half that trimmed the deficit to 13, the Minnesota Timberwolves never truly made things competitive against the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night in Game 6 of their second-round series.
Minnesota ultimately fell 139-109, officially ending its postseason run, while San Antonio advanced to the Western Conference Finals to face the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Before the game was even over, however, attention shifted toward Anthony Edwards, who went viral during the fourth quarter after walking across the court to congratulate the Spurs with roughly eight minutes still remaining in the game.

The decision by Anthony Edwards quickly went viral, but many NBA fans were not pleased with the move, believing he should have waited until the final buzzer to congratulate the San Antonio Spurs regardless of the score.
"What in the world… you don’t do that. It's disrespectful to the teammates who are still out there fighting and playing out the game. Lost some respect for Ant after this," one fan said.
Another added: "Nahhh I'm just not cool with this one. I like Ant Man but not this move. I understand what he was thinking but wait until the end of the game."
"Yeah ngl this is unacceptable. Wait till the series is over bro. He is disrespecting the end-of-bench guys on his team as both teams are still in the heat of battle," another fan wrote.
"Learning there was 8 minutes left sums up the state of this league," one more fan commented.
The Timberwolves have now reached the playoffs in each season since 2023 with Edwards leading the way.
While Minnesota advanced to the Western Conference Finals in both 2024 and 2025, the franchise has still struggled to get over the hump in the biggest postseason moments.
