Golf Fans 'Hated' ESPN's Opening To The PGA Championship Thursday

ESPN welcomed the golf world to the first round of the PGA Championship on Thursday morning, May 14.

The Worldwide Leader in Sports will have full coverage of Rounds 1 and 2 of the PGA Championship. ESPN will also have morning round coverage in Rounds 3 and 4 on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

ESPN decided to open the PGA Championship with a narrated video. The Worldwide Leader in Sports paid homage to Philadelphia and Pennsylvania, where the tournament is taking place. But ESPN made an odd choice with the narrator pick.

ESPN had "Big Dom" from the Philadelphia Eagles - the now infamous security guard - do the special introduction to the PGA Championship.

It's gone viral - but not in a good way.

"Eagles chief security officer Dom DiSandro voiced the open on ESPN for the PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania," ESPN's Adam Schefter wrote.

Who wants this from ESPN?

Why is ESPN shoving Jason Kelce and now "Big Dom" down our throats during major golf tournaments?

Golf fans are hating it.

"Nuke this entire tournament," one joked.

"Forget shrink the game. We need to Lock the Gates," one added.

"You thought Jason Kelce at Augusta was bad? The PGA said hold my beer," one shared.

"Jason Kelce first, now Big Dom. Why do marketing teams think we want this?" one added.

"Can someone remind me why we're supposed to care about this guy?" another fan wrote.

"The Philadelphia Eagles are a plague upon the rest of the world and a true leader of this nation would immediately shut them down," another joked.

ESPN might need to go back to the drawing board when it comes to their ideas for major golf tournament coverage.

Because this is two misses in a row with The Masters and the PGA Championship.
