Bryson DeChambeau Is Off To Horrible Start At PGA Championship

If Bryson DeChambeau is going to win this year's PGA Championship, he'll need to make quite the comeback at Aronimink Golf Club.

Prior to the start of the PGA Championship this week, DeChambeau was asked about LIV Golf's uncertain future now that it has lost support from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund. While fans would like to see him back on the PGA Tour, he said his focus is on his YouTube channel.

"I think, from my perspective, I'd love to grow my YouTube channel three times, maybe even more," DeChambeau said. "I would love to. I'd love to do a bunch of dubbing in different languages, giving the world more reason to watch YouTube. And then I'd love to play tournaments that want me."

Well, DeChambeau might be spending a bit too much time worrying about his YouTube channel.

DeChambeau started his first round of the PGA Championship with four bogeys on the back nine. There was a moment at the 11th hole where his lack of touch was on full display.

Unsurprisingly, golf fans are mocking DeChambeau for his slow start at Aronimink.

"After a poor Masters performance and a woeful opening round at the PGA Championship, Bryson DeChambeau has officially slid down the YTGR (YouTube Golf Rankings)," one fan said.

"Bryson Dechambeau is currently playing out the 'what if they let a weekend golfer play on the PGA Tour' hypothetical," a second fan wrote.

"When are they going to stop inviting YouTube golfer Bryson DeChambeau to these major events," another fan sarcastically commented.

"Bryson Dechambeau needs to focus a little less on breaking course records and more on making the cut at a major," a social media user wrote.

The first round of the PGA Championship is being televised on ESPN until 7 p.m. ET.

We'll see if DeChambeau claws his way back up the leaderboard.
