Justin Thomas' Most Memorable Shot? It Shouldn't Come as a Surprise
With the 2026 PGA Championship set to tee off from Aronimink Golf Club this week, Justin Thomas has a chance to join elite company should he be able to win it again.
As a 2-time winner of the PGA Championship (2017, 2022), a Thomas victory at the season's second major would make him one of only six players in history to win at least three PGA Championships - joining names like Jack Nicklaus (5), Tiger Woods (4), and Brooks Koepka (3), among others.
Of course, the task won't be an easy one, as Aronimink will present a difficult challenge for the world's best players this week.

As Justin Thomas prepares for the uncertain road ahead at the 2026 PGA Championship, it got me thinking: Is there one golf shot that he looks at as being the most memorable in his illustrious career?
Sure, Thomas is still only 33 years old - so he's got plenty of good golf left in the tank, should he stay healthy. But when I asked him what shot stands out above all thus far in his career, he didn't hesitate much.
"I would say the 7-iron I hit on 17 at the [2022] PGA Championship is the best shot under the circumstances that I've hit, and one that I remember," Thomas told me.
For those who may have forgotten, the shot Thomas is referencing helped thrust him near the top of the leaderboard at the 2022 PGA Championship, where he was able to overcome a 7-shot deficit heading into the final round - ultimately winning in a playoff over Will Zalatoris.
While that shot stands out as of now, Thomas was quick to remind me that he hopes there will be others that hold even more importance when all is said and done.
"Over the course of a career, I think we both could give you one each at this point," Justin Thomas added, referencing his pal sitting next to him, Xander Schauffele. "But at the end of our career, I'm sure we could give you two different ones.
"I could be playing this sport for another 15-to-20 years, so, hopefully, I hit one that's better and more memorable."
And while the shot that helped him win a major championship is the first that comes to mind, Justin Thomas says that, if he dug deeper, who knows, there could even be a shot that meant even more to him that didn't produce such a historic victory.
"17 is very obvious, but there could be even some little ones here and there that maybe mean more to us than they are to others," he adds.
