Ohio State to Wear New Alternate Uniforms - See Them Here

The Ohio State Buckeyes have one of the more iconic uniforms in college football history.

The team has two primary uniform patterns - a scarlet red home jersey with gray pants and a red and white stripe down the side, and a white away jersey with gray pants, both complete with a gray helmet.

But the school announced on Monday it's bringing back an alternate combo popular with fans.

"Ohio State football is bringing back its innovative Tunnel Vision (all-black) uniforms for the 2026 season and beyond, featuring key updates that honor program traditions including the evolved Buckeye Stripe on the sleeves," Ohio State said in a statement.

"Originally introduced in 2015 and last worn in 2022, this fan-favorite alternate now includes a silver flake finish on the black helmet for a bolder look while matching the signature silver aesthetic."

The Buckeyes also published 33-second hype video on their X account showing off the new uniform combination.

It's not known which game on Ohio State's 2026 schedule the team will wear the Tunnel Vision uniforms, but of the Buckeyes' 12 games next season, seven are at home in Columbus, and just five of them are against Big Ten opponents (it's assumed OSU won't wear the alternate unis against a nonconference opponent).

It's unlikely the Tunnel Vision uniforms will be worn in the regular-season finale against Michigan, which leaves a Sept. 26 game against Illinois, an Oct. 10 game against Maryland, a Nov. 7 contest against Oregon, and a Nov. 14 outing against Northwestern as the likeliest possibilities.
