Fans Sound Off on WWE Backlash Rumors for Danhausen's Mystery Partner

Following a rough debut at Elimination Chamber earlier this year, Danhausen has gained popularity with many WWE fans for his entertaining antics, including occasionally getting in the ring for matches.

He hasn’t really had a match at a premium live event (PLE) until one was set in motion when he showed up to meet John Cena at WrestleMania 42, as Danhausen brought a group of little people to the ring with him and ultimately beat up Kit Wilson and The Miz.

Now, fans will see Danhausen in a tag team match against Wilson and The Miz at WWE Backlash 2026, although he was told he needed to find a partner for the match first.

Exactly who he’ll team up with has remained a mystery, and will until Saturday’s event, although the various professional wrestling insiders and media outlets are presenting rumored spoilers.

And fans don’t seem very happy with who the recent spoilers are suggesting will be Danhausen’s tag team partner, wanting something more.

Posts have already circulated on social media, referencing a recent Wrestling Observer exclusive that speculates that musician Jelly Roll will be Danhausen’s mystery partner, but it’s not yet confirmed.

An X post from Wrestle Ops on Friday afternoon shared the potential spoiler for WWE Backlash and, understandably, many fans weren’t happy with the news.

“It better not be [expletive] Jelly Roll if that’s the case we could’ve had this on Smackdown,” one commenter replied.

“The crowd would let out the biggest collective groan in history if this happens,” another reply said.

“As a fan I’m rooting for this company…. But man what a train wreck right now,” someone replied.

“If he shows up tmrw that might be it for my wrestling passion honestly,” a commenter said.

Others wrote, “We’re so [expletive] tired of Jelly Roll. How about they push the actual wrestlers they give no time to?” and “For love of god nooooooo! Stop with celebrity crap. I want to see an actual partner that has ability.”

Jelly Roll appeared at last month’s WrestleMania 42 briefly, where he hit a massive elbow drop on Pat McAfee, driving him through a ringside broadcast table ahead of Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes’ main event championship match on Night 1.

Fans have every right to be upset about another appearance, as it would make much more sense for Danhausen to have someone more connected to WWE, either a nostalgic blast from the past or a current wrestling star in need of a push.

Some possibilities for former stars that would be interesting to see show up include The Boogeyman and Papa Shango, both of whom are characters based on horror gimmicks with creative face paint and potential nightmare fuel.

Regarding newer stars that need more visibility moving forward, Royce Keys could be a potential individual to spotlight on the PLE with a match, if not Oba Femi, who doesn’t need a push, but all the extra camera time certainly helps.

Jelly Roll previously teamed up with Randy Orton for a tag team match, which they lost to Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam 2025. He defeated The Miz’s upcoming tag partner, Kit Wilson, in a SmackDown match in late March.

Given the cost of watching monthly PLEs, fans certainly deserve something more than just another Jelly Roll appearance in a match with Danhausen, especially with the mystery buildup involved.
