Brad Stevens to Test Jaylen Brown Trade Market This Offseason: Report

Jaylen Brown is coming off the best statistical season of his NBA career with the Boston Celtics, but it certainly did not end in ideal fashion.

Brown averaged 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game this season, but the Celtics ultimately blew a 3-1 first-round series lead to the Philadelphia 76ers.

After the series concluded, Brown took to social media to voice his frustration with the officiating and what he viewed as flopping from opposing players - including Joel Embiid - while also making several controversial comments.

Brown was eventually fined by the NBA for those remarks, and he is now entering an offseason that could bring significant change.

According to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens is expected to test the trade market this offseason, with Brown potentially included in discussions as the franchise looks to address roster weaknesses.

"Brad Stevens will evaluate the market for what upgrade he could possibly make in a trade involving Brown,” Siegel reported.

If Brown does emerge as a legitimate trade candidate, he would likely sit near the top of many teams' wish lists and could potentially be involved in a blockbuster deal for a superstar such as Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks, who has also been the subject of trade speculation in recent months.

Brown is currently in the middle of the five-year, $285.4 million supermax extension he signed with the Celtics in 2023. The deal is fully guaranteed and does not include a player option.
