Casemiro Issues Strong Response to Ruben Amorim's Criticism at Manchester United

Casemiro is currently enjoying the best goalscoring form of his career. With nine goals already this season, many Manchester United fans are beginning to hope he stays for another year despite confirmation he will leave the club at the end of the season.

Casemiro, who joined for £70 million, was previously linked with MLS club LA Galaxy, but recent rumors suggest a move to Inter Miami is now more likely once the season ends.

His journey this year hasn't been straightforward, though. While he is now a fixed starter under Michael Carrick, he struggled for consistent playing time when Ruben Amorim was in charge.

In fact, Amorim once admitted that Casemiro had fallen quite far down the list of preferred midfielders, even sitting behind academy graduate Toby Collyer at one point.

Now that he has regained his form and established a strong partnership with Kobbie Mainoo, Casemiro has shared his side of the story. He recently spoke about what it was like playing under Amorim and how he handled the criticism he faced during that difficult period.

Casemiro on Proving Ruben Amorim Wrong

Reflecting on his current form, Casemiro explained that fighting his way back into the lineup ranks among the top highlights of his career.

"This could be one of the most important victories, one of the biggest achievements, of my career."

The midfielder also spoke about the period where he was sidelined, admitting that he felt motivated to prove his manager wrong through his performance.

"Even though there was a coach who didn't count on me, who said certain things, and now has to admit he was wrong because he's seen it for himself. Like I've said before, I could easily have dropped my head and thought, ‘If he thinks that, then fine, I don't need to keep working. I already have the titles I've won, life goes on.'

But no. I always wanted to play for this club and show here that I was capable. To prove to the fans that I'm a player worthy of this club. That's always been who I am, and I've always tried to show that here."

Casemiro emphasized that changing the narrative around his training and work ethic was a victory that meant as much to him as any piece of silverware.

"So one of the biggest achievements of my career has definitely been this comeback, changing a coach's opinion. A coach who didn't count on you, who said I lacked intensity, and now, even he has said that he changed his mind after seeing me in training and in matches. He said that himself. So yes, this can absolutely be considered one of the biggest achievements of my career."
