Prep highlights: Mark Morris softball completes undefeated run through 2A GSHL
May 6-Paisley Fraidenburg hit a three-run home run and Makenzie Henthorn pitched another shutout as the Mark Morris softball team completed a 14-0 season in the 2A Greater St. Helens League with a 3-0 win over Columbia River at VGSA on Wednesday.
Henthorn and Columbia River pitcher Ruby Lew were battling in a pitchers' duel through five innings with the game tied 0-0.
The only batters to get a hit in the first five innings were Lew (two) and Henthorn (one).
But Keira McGinley opened the top of the sixth by reaching on an error, and Megan Fugelberg followed with a bunt single.
Then Fraidenburg launched a 3-2 pitch over the center field fence for a three-run home run.
That's all the offense Henthorn would need, striking out 12 and allowing just those two hits to Lew.
Stars of the Day
Isabelle Walker, Ridgefield softball, went 2 for 5 with two doubles and three RBI in a 16-1 win over R.A. Long.
Jolie Oathes, Woodland softball, went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double and two RBI in a 15-5 win over Washougal.
Nash Neumann, Washougal baseball, hit a tiebreaking two-run double in the top of the 10th inning in a 7-4 win over Woodland. He finished 4 for 5 with three RBI.
Reilly O'Farrell, Mark Morris baseball, allowed just four hits and two walks over six innings, striking out seven in a 3-1 win over Ridgefield.
Tyler Head, Columbia River baseball, pitched a complete game, allowing four hits, no walks and striking out seven in a 5-0 win over Hockinson.
Ronan Loop, Camas baseball, went 2 for 3 with two RBI and two runs scored in an 8-2 win over Mountain View.
