Knicks' Mike Brown Shares Update on OG Anunoby After Game 2 Win Over 76ers
OG Anunoby was one of the most impactful players for the New York Knicks' 108-102 Game 2 win against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday. However, Anunoby did not finish the game and left hobbling with 2:31 left.
The star forward had 24 points, five rebounds and four steals for the Knicks. His two-way play gave New York the much-needed energy to win the second game of the best-of-seven series to improve their 2-0 lead. All-Star guard Jalen Brunson added 26 points and six assists on 9-for-21 shooting.
Around 3:08 in the fourth quarter, Anunoby hopped on his left leg as he grabbed the backside of his right thigh. He played through the pain but missed a dunk attempt. The Knicks forward stayed on the floor for a while but signaled to the bench to be taken out after Mikal Bridges knocked down a midrange jumper.
Mike Brown Doesn't Have a Clear Update on OG Anunoby
During the Knicks' postgame presser, head coach Mike Brown was asked about what happened to Anunoby. However, Brown doesn't have a clear update on the starting forward.
"I haven't talked to anybody. He looked like he was hopping. I have not talked to medical yet," Brown said.

Anunoby is a major part of the team's success this postseason, and an injury could be a significant blow to the team's roster. In Game 1 against the 76ers, the forward had 18 points and three rebounds to help the Knicks to a 137-98 blowout win.
In the first-round against the Atlanta Hawks, Anunoby had three games where he scored at least 20 points. In Game 6, the starting forward led the team with his 29 points, seven rebounds and four steals on a very efficient 66.7% 3-point shooting. During that six-game stretch, the 28-year-old forward averaged 21.5 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.8 steals on 56.7% shooting from long range.
The Knicks have a strong 2-0 lead before traveling to Philadelphia for Games 3 and 4. New York has set their eyes on coming out of the Eastern Conference and reaching the NBA Finals. Last year, they were two wins away from winning the conference finals. However, their goals were spoiled by Tyrese Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers.
