Mike Greenberg Issues Public Thank You To ESPN's Viewers

ESPN had exciting news to share this Wednesday regarding "Get Up" host Mike Greenberg and the rest of the crew.

Now that Nielsen has released all of its data for last month's programming, ESPN can officially say that "Get Up" had its best April viewership yet. The network's signature morning show averaged 447,000 viewers, which is a 24% year-over-year increase.

It certainly helps that "Get Up" had the chance to cover the Masters, NFL Draft, and the NBA and NHL playoffs this past month. With that being said, Greenberg thanked ESPN's viewers for their endless support.

"Our group continues to grow and grow, thanks to all the hard work by every member of the team, but mostly because of all of you who choose to Get Up with us in the morning," Greenberg wrote. "Thanks so much for your support, we hope we start your days with a smile."

Multiple ESPN shows thrived in April.

"Pardon the Interruption" proved that it still has its fastball, averaging 719,000 viewers in April. "The Pat McAfee Show" also had a strong month, averaging 430,000 viewers.

The biggest winner this past month may have been "NFL Live," which had a 34% year-over-year increase for April.

"The month built on the momentum of ESPN's daily studio shows recording a 14% gain in average viewership for the Nielsen first quarter of 2026, with five shows scoring their highest Q1 averages ever and two others drawing their largest Q1 viewership average in 10 years," ESPN's press release states. "The entire lineup of ESPN studio shows was up 21% overall in viewership over April of 2025 and up 10% year-over-year (YOY) in the coveted Persons ages 18-49 demographic."

We'll see if ESPN can keep this momentum going in May.
