Aaron Rodgers Expected to Play for This NFL Team Amid Cardinals Rumors
Sorry [or you’re welcome] Arizona Cardinals fans, Aaron Rodgers won’t be playing for your team in 2026.
On Wednesday afternoon NFL insider Ian Rapoport poured cold water on the sudden rumors linking Rodgers to the Cardinals that appeared out of thin air this week. Rapoport definitively believes Rodgers will be playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2026 or nowhere at all.
"No legs for that one," Rapoport said Wednesday on “The Pat McAfee Show.”
"Certainly don't expect it. Sorry to disappoint everyone. Don't expect that. Do I expect him to sign in Arizona? I expect if he is going to play, to play for Pittsburgh.”

Rapoport’s comment lines up with what fellow insider Adam Schefter said regarding Rodgers’ possible home for the 2026 NFL season.
“I don’t see a second place right now. I just don’t see it. You tell me a second-place team. Somebody floated out Arizona. I don’t see Aaron Rodgers going out to Arizona to finish out his career. With all due respect, like what would be the team? I welcome suggestions. I don’t see it,” he said.
While the rumors linking the future Hall of Fame quarterback to a new location were fun fodder in the offseason, there appears to be no merit. Instead, Rodgers will continue to remain in the headlines until he finally decides whether or not he wants to play next season.
The Steelers begin organized team activities on May 18, which could mark a potential decision date from the quarterback.
