Jemele Hill Reacts To WNBA's Preseason Caitlin Clark Snub
Former ESPN star Jemele Hill is among those who have weighed in on the WNBA's preseason snubbing of Caitlin Clark.
The WNBA released an anonymous GMs poll prior to the start of the 2026 season. Clark, the league's most popular player, did not finish in first place in two important categories. She trailed Paige Bueckers in the "which WNBA player would you most want to build a team around" question, while also coming in second place in the "who is the WNBA's best point guard" question.
It might not seem like massive disrespect to come in second place in those categories, but for Clark - the 2024 No. 1 overall pick and, arguably the face of the league - it's viewed as a slight.
Former ESPN star Jemele Hill was among those to react to the poll on social media.
"I'm sure this will be reasonably discussed by fans," she said sarcastically on social media on Tuesday night.
WNBA fans react to Clark's slight
"It wont be reasonably discussed by you, clearly. One is the total package, the other is just an elite baller. Why don't you tell us who your pick is," one fan added.
"Just shows again the W leadership for the most part aren't serious people. If you are starting a franchise at best Paige is 3 on this list. You can argue about who is better, there is no doubt about who you're starting with," one fan added.
"If we talking about the whole shebang, of finances and money to your squad it would be CC off that alone. If not then go with Aja," one fan added.
"PB is talented but she led her team to a 10-win season and the Wings were 11th in attendance. Caitlin took the Fever from lottery team to playoff team her rookie season, while breaking attendance and viewership records. If this isn't a "reasonable" take to you, you're the problem," one fan added.
Who would you take to start a WNBA franchise right now?
