Prep Highlights: Fort Vancouver beats Stevenson to capture Trico League boys soccer title

May 5-Jorge Ventura had three goals and an assists as the Fort Vancouver boys soccer team beat Stevenson 10-0 to clinch the Trico League championship on Tuesday.

The Trappers' win coupled with King's Way Christian's 1-0 win over Columbia-White Salmon secured the league title for Fort.

Keyler Caballero added two goals and Angel Monroy had three assists for the Trappers.

Rylan Richter scored the lone goal in King's Way Christian's win that clinched a district playoff berth for the Knights.

Fort will head to district as the No. 1 seed from the Trico, followed by Columbia, King's Way Christian and La Center.

Bryce Collins, Kelso baseball, struck out 14 batters and allowed just one hit in a 4-0 non-league win over Peninsula.

Taylor Lies, Skyview softball, went 2 for 4 with two runs and two RBI in a 14-4 4A GSHL win over Union.

Skylar Richie, Kelso softball, went 3 for 4 with two extra-base hits, two runs and three RBI in a 3A GSHL win over Mountain View.

Jase Wong, Skyview baseball, went 4 for 4 with two home runs, a double, three runs and 5 RBI in a 6-4 non-league win over Mountain View.

Aeden Pena, Columbia River boys soccer, made five saves in goal in a 2-0 shutout of R.A. Long.

Addi Christensen, Woodland softball, allowed five hits over five innings and also drove in two runs on 2 for 4 at the plate in a 14-5 non-league win over Toledo.

Ryder Graves, Columbia-White Salmon baseball, went 2 for 3 with a triple and three RBI in a 1A Trico win over Fort Vancouver.

Jaila Ellis, Heritage softball, drove in six runs, scored four times and struck out six batters in 2.1 innings in a 3A GSHL win over Evergreen.

Kingsley Williams, Seton Catholic softball, had a double, triple, scored twice and drove in two runs in a 12-1 1A Trico win over La Center.

Brady Hamer, Castle Rock baseball, struck out 13 batters in a five-inning shutout for a 1A Trico victory over Stevenson.

Anthony Gonzalez, Evergreen boys soccer, made four saves in goal in a 1-0 shutout of Prairie.
