Zay Flowers Reacts to Ravens Signing Undrafted QB Diego Pavia

The starting quarterback job in Baltimore is firmly locked in with Lamar Jackson entering his ninth NFL season, all with the Ravens.

Behind him, though, the quarterback room remains unsettled. Veteran Tyler Huntley is still under contract, and the team added two undrafted quarterbacks in Joe Fagnano (UConn) and Diego Pavia (Vanderbilt), with Pavia being one of the more polarizing yet talented prospects in this year's class.

There are several reasons why Pavia may have gone undrafted, including concerns about his measurables - as he's considered undersized for the position - and a brash personality that may not have appealed to teams looking for a more traditional backup. Still, he landed a three-year deal with Baltimore and will now look to prove himself at the next level.

Reacting to the news over the weekend was Ravens star wide receiver Zay Flowers, who was in attendance at the Kentucky Derby.

"Congrats. It's a dream come true. Anybody that chases their dreams and makes it happen, I think it's always congrats because it's a long road to get there," Flowers said.

When asked what Pavia will need to do to make the team, Flowers kept it simple: "Be himself. That's all."

Pavia will likely need to work his way into the top three on the depth chart to earn a roster spot - or at least secure a role on the practice squad if the Ravens don't make another move at quarterback.

It's expected that Jackson and Huntley will remain QB1 and QB2 given their experience in Baltimore. That leaves Pavia competing with Fagnano for the third spot on the depth chart.
