Katherine Legge Adds NASCAR Cup Series Race to May Schedule
Katherine Legge is back in the NASCARCup Series. This is the first time Legge has entered a NASCAR race this season. The British driver will be paired up once again with Live Fast Motorsports with sponsorship from cosmetics brand Elf.
Last season, Katherine Legge raced seven times in the Cup Series on a variety of tracks. He highlights include a P19 finish at the Chicago Street Race and a P17 finish in the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
With a background in sports cars and open wheel racing, the road courses are going to be her best bet. If Live Fast delivers her a quick car, we've seen what she is capable of in the Cup Series. Taking the 78 into the top-20 at a road course and a large oval was impressive for her first handful of races.
Live Fast Motorsports made the announcement on Monday morning. A quick NASCAR stop at Watkins Glen, then it is full focus on Indianapolis and the Indy 500.

She's back!

Last season, Katherine Legge faced a lot of criticism for her performances in the Cup Series at Phoenix and the O'Reilly Series at Rockingham. However, she was able to bounce back and showed that she can hold her own in the Cup Series depending on the track, and depending on how her car is handling.
Live Fast Motorsports might have a little more money to work with right now, too. Daniel Dye has signed on to race the superspeedways in the 78 car. Legge is racing Watkins Glen. Any sponsorship that team brings in is more than welcomed and should help to make the car more consistent, quicker, and perform better overall.
Last year, Legge raced quite a bit in NASCAR. It will be interesting to see if she has any more races added to her schedule in the near future. In particular, San Diego looks like a race, much like Chicago last year, where Legge and Live Fast could potentially punch above their weight.
