Buffalo Bills General Manager Sparks Outrage With Super Bowl Comment
We're still several months away from the start of the 2026 NFL season, and yet, Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane is already facing serious backlash online.
The Bills have been knocking on the doorstep of a Super Bowl appearance over the past six seasons. Despite having an MVP quarterback in Josh Allen, they've fallen short time and time again.
Beane is well aware that Bills fans are eager to witness a Super Bowl victory. However, he claims no one is more anxious than him.
"Listen, no one's more angry that we haven't got it done at myself than me. And I'll always be that way," Beane told Tyler Dunne of GoLongTD.com. "I don't need outside motivation. I don't need that. If we go in there right now and we play ping-pong, I'm going to try and whip your [expletive]. And if you beat me, I'm going to try and figure out what you did and how you beat me. And I'm going to tell you to get your ass back over here soon and we're going to come back at it until I can beat you. And so as long as Terry Pegula and the Pegula family allows me to do this job, that's what it's going to be."
Judging by the reactions on social media, Beane's comments about Buffalo's championship drought weren't well received by Bills Mafia.
"Getting a little tired of Beane. This needs to work or he needs to be shown the door," one fan wrote on X.
"This is the guy who can't build a Super Bowl caliber roster going on 5 seasons," a second fan said.
"He is so incredibly unlikable," another fan declared.
It's a new era for the Bills.
After the Bills fell short to the Denver Broncos in the divisional round of the playoffs, Terry Pegula made the decision to part ways with Sean McDermott. The longtime head coach was then replaced by his offensive coordinator, Joe Brady.
"Over the past four years I've learned a tremendous amount of things from coach McDermott: how to lead, resilience, standards. The past nine years of this organization matter. I'm understanding of that. I'm appreciative of the opportunity to be a part of it. They matter deeply and they deserve respect," Brady said. "I'm so grateful for coach McDermott. I love coach McDermott. And I'm going to do everything I can to continue build upon the things he laid and the foundation he laid."
Beane tried to bolster Brady's roster in free agency by signing Bradley Chubb to a three-year, $43.5 million deal with $29 million guaranteed. He also acquired a few veteran defensive backs in Dee Alford and C.J. Gardner-Johnson.
Time will tell if the Bills finally get over the hump.
