Wa-Hi JROTC team competes at CMP Western Regional

SALT LAKE CITY - The Walla Walla High School JROTC had three rifle teams compete at the CMP Western Regional this past weekend.

Cadet Maj. Claire Calvert finished in 14th place for the Precision Team after shooting a 576 on Friday and a 576 on Saturday. Cadet Sgt. Noah Hein (569, 574), Cadet Staff Sgt. Peytin Munns (562, 564) and Cadet 1st Sgt. Marcus Goin (554, 552) also shot for the Precision Team, which finished in ninth place.

Cadet Capt. Jaycee Cox led Team One in the Sporter category, shooting a 533 on Friday and a 538 on Saturday. Cadet Lt. Wyatt Postlewait (524, 535), Cadet Command Sgt. Maj. Troy Beckmann (514, 526) and Cadet Capt. Melissa Villegas (514, 519) also shot for Sporter Team One, which finished in seventh place.

Cadet 1st Sgt. Allona Fine led Team Two in the Sporter category, shooting a 505 on Friday and a 515 on Saturday. Cadet Cpl. Muhammad Lokaman (505, 508), Cadet Cpl. Delaynee Cox (486), Cadet Lt. Keelieann Day (481, 496) and Cadet Capt. Shaylee Jones (464, 496) also shot for Sporter Team Two.

The Blue Devils have to wait on final national placements that will determine if they will be awarded invitations to the National Championships in Camp Perry, Ohio, this summer.
