Kirby Smart Lands Next Brock Bowers as No. 2 TE Jaxon Dollar Commits to Georgia

Over the last few years, Georgia has been on a relentless run of producing elite tight ends, making a strong case as the sport's true "Tight End U."

Front and center in that argument is Brock Bowers, now starring for the Las Vegas Raiders.

From the moment he arrived in 2021, Bowers led the Georgia Bulldogs in receiving as a true freshman and finished his career with 175 catches, 2,538 yards, and 26 touchdowns, adding rushing production and back-to-back John Mackey Awards along the way.

But it wasn't just Bowers. Lining him up alongside 6-foot-7 mismatch Darnell Washington, now with the Pittsburgh Steelers, created impossible matchup problems, blending old-school physicality with explosive versatility.

The pipeline hasn't slowed, either. Oscar Delp has moved on to the New Orleans Saints, while former five-star Elyiss Williams flashed as a freshman with 117 yards and a touchdown on just seven catches, another sign of what's coming next.

All of it reinforces a system that consistently develops NFL-caliber tight ends and keeps the position central to Georgia's offensive identity.

Now, that reputation just got even stronger.

On Thursday, April 30, Jaxon Dollar, the No. 2-ranked tight end in the 2027 class, officially committed to Georgia, choosing Kirby Smart's program over Notre Dame and Miami.

As a junior at East Lincoln High School in North Carolina, Dollar posted eye-popping numbers with 54 receptions, 1,190 yards, and 20 touchdowns in just 12 games, good for a staggering 22 yards per catch.

For a 6-foot-5, 220-plus-pound tight end, that kind of vertical production is rare.

Dollar is also a true two-way athlete, adding 38 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, and five sacks on defense in 2025.

And as if that wasn’t enough, he also shined on the basketball court, averaging 15.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 2.1 blocks across 30 games as a sophomore.

Scouting reports consistently describe Dollar as a "modern" tight end, essentially a big-slot weapon who can stretch seams, win jump balls, and create yards after the catch.

Much like Bowers, he projects to be a matchup nightmare from day one.

In the short term, this commitment further solidifies Georgia's 2027 class as one of the most dangerous in the country.

The Bulldogs already have the No. 20-ranked recruiting class in the country, according to 247Sports, headlined by five-stars Kemon Spell (No. 1 RB) and Donte Wright (No. 2 CB), and that Dollar hasn’t even been included in that ranking.

More importantly, it reinforces a clear recruiting pitch. If you're an elite tight end, Athens is the place to be.

As college football evolves toward more hybrid skill players (tight ends who can function as WR1s), Georgia continues to position itself as the premier destination for that archetype.
