Stephanie Vaquer WWE Injury Update Arrives After WrestleMania 42 Loss
Injuries have been a major hindrance to professional athletes’ careers, and WWE stars getting sidelined has become a common occurrence due to the intense nature of their in-ring performances.
At WrestleMania 42, fans saw previously hurt heel Liv Morgan, who won the 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble, reclaim the Women’s Championships. She did so by defeating Stephanie Vaquer with the help of Judgment Day sidekicks, including Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez.
Morgan returned after a five-month hiatus last November, appearing at Survivor Series: WarGames and helping Dominik Mysterio defeat John Cena. She then went on to win the Royal Rumble match, before putting Vaquer on notice for a championship battle at Mania.
Unfortunately, Vaquer is now out of action with an injury of her own, a second-degree AC (acromioclavicular) sprain in her shoulder, and it appears fans might not see her for many months. She recently appeared on “WWE Raw,” where Morgan, Perez, and Rodriguez attacked her backstage, taking her off television for a while to recover.

On Thursday, Wrestle Votes Radio on Fightful Select shared the unfortunate news that Vaquer will be out of action for the “foreseeable future.” The outlet indicated there is no clear timetable for when she’ll return, but there is optimism it could be by SummerSlam 2026.
That occurs in early August, with Minneapolis, Minnesota, as this year’s host site for the significant premium live event (PLE). As of this writing, there are no matches scheduled since the event is months away, but it’s generally among WWE’s four biggest PLEs of the year, along with Mania, Royal Rumble, and Survivor Series.
Vaquer joined WWE's NXT developmental brand in 2024 after a successful run with various promotions, including Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre and New Japan Pro Wrestling.
She quickly became a fan favorite, achieving the NXT Women’s North American Championship and NXT Women’s Championship before joining the main roster.
Her main roster career has also been positive, with Vaquer claiming the Women’s World Championship and WWE Women’s Crown Jewel Championship. Her recent Women’s World Championship reign of 210 days was the longest since Morgan’s previous reign of 226 days.
While injuries are never fun for those involved, a star wrestler’s surprising return has always been a major source of excitement for fans and many superstars alike, as they embrace the moment of seeing just how much they’re missed on screens or in the ring.
