Ravens Sign 6-Time Pro Bowl DE to Complement Trey Hendrickson
The Baltimore Ravens may not have traded for star edge-rusher Maxx Crosby, but that hasn't deterred them from building a pretty good pass-rush for next season.
The day after backing out of their deal for Crosby that would've sent two first-round picks back to the Las Vegas Raiders, the Ravens added another star pass-rusher to replace him.
Defensive end Trey Hendrickson signed a four-year, $112 million deal with Baltimore, giving the team a nice consolation prize after missing out on Crosby.
The Ravens didn't just stop adding to their defense with Hendrickson, however. They selected Missouri edge-rusher Zion Young in the second round of the 2026 NFL draft last week, and on Thursday they brought back a familiar face to help stabilize the team's defensive line.
"Six-time Pro-Bowl DE Calais Campbell, who played in Baltimore from 2020-2022, is returning to sign a one-year deal with the Ravens, per source," Schefter tweeted. "Campbell will 40 on Sept. 1 and this will be his 19th NFL season."
The 39-year-old Campbell has been the poster child for both consistency and longevity in the NFL.
In his 18 seasons, he's recorded 30 or more pressures in 16 of them and five or more sacks in 15. The 6-foot-8, 315-pound Campbell has avoided injury and remained just as productive near the end of his career as he was at the start of it.
Playing for the Arizona Cardinals last season, Campbell put up 43 tackles, 33 pressures, 18 hurries, nine QB hits, and 6.5 sacks, per Pro Football Focus. He had a successful run with the Ravens from 2020-2022, totaling 91 pressures, 54 hurries, 36 QB hits, 11 sacks, 10 tackles for loss, nine passes defended, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery.
Baltimore's newest signing gives the team a solid pass-rush rotation of Hendrickson, Young, Campbell, Tavius Robinson, Mike Green, and defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike, if his recovery from neck surgery goes as expected.
