Golfer 'Young Dalt' Accused Of Disrespectful Behavior At U.S. Open Qualifier
A golfer competing at the U.S. Open qualifiers has been accused of "disrespectful" behavior, sparking a major debate online.
U.S. Open local qualifiers are taking place across the country this week. The top golfers from the local qualifiers will advance to a final round, with a select few advancing to the major tournament in June.
Tony Romo was among those competing in Texas, though the former NFL quarterback didn't play very well.
One golfer at a qualifier sparked a major debate in the golf world with his decision.
A content creator, Young Dalt, competed in a U.S. Open qualifier. He shot an 82 and needed a -3 to make the cut.
But it's not his score that sparked a debate. Instead, it was his decision to film every shot of his round.
Golfer gets called out for his filming decision
Flatiron Flusher, known for his golf takes, spoke out on social media.
"It's one thing to film yourself shooting 82, it's another to invite your cameraman ONTO the green, DURING PLAY. It's intrusive, disrespectful, and a distraction your playing partners didn't agree to. Embarrassing behavior," he wrote.
"This isn't some schmuck event BTW, it's US Open locals. Unacceptable."
Golf fans are taking sides.
"I don't feel as strongly as Flatiron Flusher, but the words intrusive and distracting are fair. Sometimes we gotta call out bad behavior," one fan wrote.
"Haters gonna hate. Guys in the comments can't win their local league match let alone play like this," one fan added.
"As long as they are keeping up with pace of play you shouldn't care that much about another grown man playing golf 🤣," one added.
How do you feel about a golfer filming every shot of their round during a U.S. Open qualifier?
