Fever Coach Stephanie White Announces Aliyah Boston Decision on Wednesday
Aliyah Boston is hoping that the Indiana Fever can return to the playoffs for the 2026 WNBA season. Superstar guard Caitlin Clark missed most of the season due to a groin injury, allowing Boston to step up her play for the Fever. Boston led the team in rebounds per game (8.2), assists (3.9) and blocks (0.9).
Boston finished second on the team in scoring (15.0 points per game), behind guard Kelsey Mitchell (20.2). Boston played in all 44 regular-season games and eight postseason games for the Fever. The 6-foot-5 forward played a key role in the Fever upsetting the No. 3-seeded Atlanta Dream in the 2025 WNBA playoffs, before falling to A'ja Wilson and the No. 2-seeded Las Vegas Aces.
For Indiana to be successful in 2026, Boston's health will play a major role. Although the Worcester Academy graduate has avoided major injuries during her WNBA career, she suffered a lower right leg injury during the offseason. Boston missed Indiana's opening preseason game against the New York Liberty on Saturday.
On Wednesday, Indianapolis Star reporter Chloe Peterson took to social media to announce updates that Fever head coach Stephanie White provided to the media. On X, Peterson disclosed that White provided an update on Boston, along with Ty Harris and Lexie Hull. She said all three are expected to be out of the lineup to prioritize health entering the 2026 season.
"Steph White said she doesn't anticipate playing Aliyah Boston," Peterson wrote on X. "Ty Harris or Lexie Hull tomorrow in the preseason game against Dallas. ‘I think we'll still probably be cautious with that. I think the goal is probably to get some of them minutes on Saturday, if we can.'"
