Sophie Cunningham's Change in Physical Appearance Through WNBA Career Draws Attention
Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham first joined the WNBA in 2019. After an iconic four-year collegiate career with the Missouri Tigers, Cunningham was selected 13th overall by the Phoenix Mercury in the 2019 WNBA Draft.
Cunningham spent the first six years of her career in Phoenix. She played a total of 182 regular-season games for the Mercury, averaging 7.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 22.8 minutes per contest. The 6-foot-1 guard also knocked down 1.4 triples on a 36.2% clip.
Cunningham joined the Fever ahead of the 2025 season. Phoenix traded her to Indiana in a four-team deal that included the Connecticut Sun and the Dallas Wings.
After an impactful first season with the Fever, Cunningham signed a one-year deal in free agency in March to extend her stay in Indiana.
It has been quite a journey for Cunningham in the WNBA. She was 22 when she first entered the league. The veteran will turn 30 in August.
Cunningham's WNBA tenure has also seen significant changes in her physical appearance over the years. A year-by-year collage of Cunningham's face throughout her WNBA career is currently making its rounds on social media.
